When there are questions about a child’s development, it’s important to access information quickly. The programs that we offer to support children and their families include:
Early Intervention is available to children from birth through age 2.
Each child goes through an assessment to determine their eligibility for Early Intervention services. If eligible, our team of experts works with families to determine the needs and priorities for a child’s development.
A Service Coordinator will assist the family with arranging needed services. This could include occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech/language pathology, and developmental therapy. A team member from one of these areas will serve as the primary service provider and the family’s primary contact through the child’s time in Early Intervention.
The preschool years, ages 3-5, are critical to a child’s physical and cognitive development. Blanchard Valley Preschool has a team of licensed teachers who specialize in working with children with cognitive and other developmental delays.
Our 5 Star Step Up To Quality preschool, which operates under the Ohio Department of Education, utilizes a creative curriculum that offers developmentally appropriate activities to support active learning for both children with and without disabilities. The program uses the young child’s most important strategy for exploring and learning about their world – play!
Related Services, such as speech/language, occupational, and
physical therapy, support learning when needed.
Blanchard Valley School, for students ages 6-21, operates under the Ohio Department of Education and is staffed by licensed intervention specialists.
Our school offers specially designed instruction for students based on their individual learning needs. Related Services, such as speech/language, occupational, and physical therapy, are available when needed. Working with local school districts, we develop and implement each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) in our specialized learning setting. Our goal is to provide programs and services that empower students to become as independent and self-confident as possible.
