
Steve Thoming – President
Steve Thoming has been a member of the board since 2018.
Steve has a banking background and currently serves as a lending manager for Millstream Area Credit Union. Prior to his current position, Steve worked at Citizens Bank, Bank of America, and First Commonwealth Bank.
He has an associate degree from BYU Idaho.
Steve and his wife, Darcy, live in Findlay. They have three adult children

Dennis Doolittle – Vice President
Dennis Doolittle joined the board in 2019. He lives in Findlay, Ohio with his wife Shauna, daughter Katelyn who is a student at Blanchard Valley School and family dogs Buckeye & Bailey. Graduated from Vanlue Local School and studied Healthcare and Facilities Management at Owens Community College. Dennis works for Findlay City Schools as the Director of Operations and enjoys volunteering in the community and camping with his family.

Dan Burket – Secretary
Dan joined the board in 2020.
Dan is a Findlay native that graduated from Liberty Benton High School. He studied Political Science and Finance before becoming an entrepreneur at age 21. He currently owns and operates Stevi B’s Pizza in Findlay, and has owned the business since 2017.

Chuck Hirschy
Chuck joined the board in 2005. He served as vice president and secretary, before becoming board president in 2018.
Chuck retired from Brown Mackie College as a professor of Psychology. He and his wife, Margaret, reside in Findlay with their son, Clinton.

Dr. Rahman “Buzz” Dyer
Dr. Rahman “Buzz” Dyer has been a member of the board since 2010. He is a past president of the board and currently serves as its vice president.
Buzz has been an Ohio educator for nearly 60 years, having started his career in 1962 as a teacher in Loudonville. Before retiring from McComb Local Schools in 1995, he served as a teacher, athletic director, principal and superintendent. He is currently a professor of education at the University of Findlay.
A Findlay native, Buzz earned a social comprehensive bachelor’s degree and an educational administration and supervision master’s degree from the University of Findlay. He also has a doctorate degree in educational administration and supervision from Bowling Green State University.
Buzz and his wife, Shirley, live in McComb.

Laura Matusoff
Laura Joined the board in 2019. Laura has spent more than 30 years of volunteering, training, and advocating in the community. She has served in OH, MN, CA, IL, and CO. Laura joined the BVC Human Rights Committee in 2016.
She currently continues that work with the COG Southern Region. Laura grew up in Findlay and returned in 2014. She currently, Lives in Findlay with her husband, Jim, and daughter, Sarah, their son, Kyle and his wife, Sydney.

Dr. Kara Parker
Dr. Kara Parker is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of Findlay. She teaches courses on research, diversity, and collaboration in both the Master’s and Doctorate of Education programs.
Dr. Parker’s research interests include teaching & learning, school psychology, neuropsychology and emotional behavioral disorders. Through her research, Dr. Parker aims to identify opportunities to increase equity and opportunity for groups traditionally underrepresented in special education.
Dr. Parker holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Toledo. She earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in School Psychology and Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology from Bowling Green State University. Dr. Parker earned an Education Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Teaching and Learning from the University of Findlay.
Dr. Parker is a state licensed and nationally certified school psychologist. She has worked as a school psychologist in 7 diverse districts, including a county Emotional Disturbance program. Prior to school psychology, Dr. Parker was a behavioral specialist working in a residential program for youth with significant psychological and behavioral needs.
