Blanchard Valley Center 

Special Olympics and Community Support Coordinator

Special Olympics and Community Support Coordinator needed  for Blanchard Valley Center. This positon encourages and supports individuals with Developmental Disabilities to connect recreationally with their community as well as organize and maintain the Special Olympics program. Must be highly organized, motivated and detail orientated. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends. Experience in Special Olympics and Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have an Ohio Driver’s License, High School Diploma and be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen and background check.

Administrative Assistant 2- Administration Receptionist

Full time Hourly position, occasional evening and/or weekend hours required

The AA2 Admin Receptionist is responsible for handling a broad range of complex responsibilities so administration staff can function in an effective and efficient manner.  Enables the Administration staff to carry out their duties to achieve the agency mission and vision and enables the achievement of the Department’s goals and objectives.  Carries out duties in an accurate/precise, courteous, confidential and timely manner.  Assists with various public awareness activities, including but not limited to: newsletters, brochures, social media, public speaking, etc. under the direction of the Community Relations Manager.

Degree required, preferably in marketing, public relations, or communication, a valid Ohio Driver License with acceptable driving record, Ability to pass physical and drug screen and have a clean background verified by a BCI/FBI check.

  • This is a professional positon responsible for investigating Major Unusual Incidents and assisting in the development of prevention planning. The individual in this position monitors, collects, and analyzes data in regards to unusual incidents and major unusual incidents and prepares various written reports in regards to this data.

    Must have and maintain current IA certification with DODD. Applicant must have bachelor’s degree in education, health service, human services, law enforcement, social or behavioral science, or a related field. Applicant must have a valid Ohio driver’s license with a record that is acceptable by the agency’s insurance carrier. Applicant must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screen.

     This is a full time, Salary exempt position. Flexible schedule with on-call hours required. Competitive pay based off experience.   • Now accepting applications for a Service and Support Administrator (SSA) at Blanchard Valley Center, The Hancock County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

    Duties include: Provide exceptional services to individuals who have developmental disabilities and their families. Establishes and reviews individual eligibility for County Board services; assesses individual needs for services and assesses the individual’s likes, dislikes, priorities, and desired outcome, and determines what is important to the individual including health, welfare, and medical needs, as applicable.

    Wages start at $32,900 plus on call pay. Benefits include OPERS retirement system, personal days, vacation after 1 year, sick time and county board paid life insurance. Health, Dental and Vision insurance are all available.

    Bachelor degree in social service related field is required for this position. 

    Applicant must be able to pass physical, drug screen, background checks and insurability per company policy.

     

  • Adaptive Physical Education Instructor
  • Plan, Develop and implement fine and gross motor activities based upon the needs of each preschool/school age individual as ascertained through a multi-factored evaluation. Develop and implent social - recreational activities based on the needs of each individual. Provide a written assessment of all preschool and school age enrollees to determine functioning level in the area of physical development. Cooperate in the development and updating of each enrollee's IEP/IFSP. Maintain Current and accurate records on each individual's progress in the area of physical education, Maintain a close cooperative relationship with the family of each child under his/her instruction in order to best facilitate and implement the IEP. The Position will also be substituting in other classrooms when not working as an APE Instructor.
 
Teaching license through ODE; a valid OH driver's License and be insurable per compant policy; must be able to pass a background check, drug screen and physical.
