Getting Started
Contact the special education supervisor at your local school district, or the Director of Children's Services at Blanchard Valley School at 419-422-8173. Your child will be evaluated by the multi-factored evaluation team, which will determine if the child is eligible for preschool special education services.
Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for Blanchard Valley Preschool require children to:
- Be between 3-5 years old
- Be a resident of Hancock County; and
- Have a disability category of multiple disabilities, developmental disability, or autism on the Evaluation Team Report
- Referred by school district where child and his/her family live
- Parents have to agree to placement at Blanchard Valley School
Services
Blanchard Valley School provides educational services and related services, such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and adaptive physical education. These services are provided based on the needs of the child as developed on the Individualized Education Program.
Accreditation & Qualifications
Blanchard Valley School is accredited by the Ohio Department of Education. The Creative Curriculum used at Blanchard Valley School adheres to Ohio Early Learning Content Standards established by the Ohio Department of Education. All Blanchard Valley School teachers are licensed by the Ohio Department of Education. Employee are certified in first aid, CPR, and RESPECT, a behavior support training. All staff receive ongoing training.
